Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Fund

To support the youth of Surrey and Lower Fraser Valley with financial aid and resources, while fostering relationships with the youth community.

The Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Fund was established by the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association at the 68th annual Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair. The objective of the Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Fund (CRYIF) is to give back to our community and surrounding areas through our 3 core pillars Financial, Resources and People. The Fund is passionate with getting involved and supporting the future of our youth in a variety of ways.

Financial: CRYIF provides funds to the annual Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Scholarship, sponsors youth events and contributes to worthy causes that are within its mandate.

Resources: CRYIF can provide resources to charities and youth initiatives in a variety of ways that are within its mandate.

People: CRYIF can provide assistance with events, mentorship and people power that are within its mandate.

The Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Fund is governed by a Board of Advisors that reports to the Board of Directors of the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association. The Board of Advisors consists of:

  • Laura Ballance – Director
  • Mike MacSorley – Secretary
  • Rick Hugh – Treasurer
  • Kelsey Swanson – Youth Ambassador Chair

CRYIF Committees: The Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Fund has four committees that organize and support the initiatives and objectives of the Fund.

Future Plans for the Scholarship Awards

We are in the process of incorporating a new stand alone foundation and applying for charity registration. The new foundation will take over the scholarship awards program in 2018.
